The 5th China International Tea Expo kicked off in the International Expo Center in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, on May 20. The Expo attracted delegations from 22 provinces, nearly 900 well-known domestic and foreign tea companies and over 4,000 professional buyers from around the world.
The theme of this year’s expo was “Tea and the World Share Development”. In the expo’s 50,000-square-meter exhibition area, more than 10,000 tea products covering six types of tea, i.e., black, green, oolong, yellow, dark and white, were displayed. The expo focused on rural revitalization, the upcoming Asian Games and common prosperity, and aimed to build tea brands and connect production to the market. Four exhibition areas on achievements, tea brands, featured products and promotional events were set up respectively, to fully demonstrate the development and achievements of China’s tea industry, introduce new varieties, new technologies, new equipment and new business models, and promote tea brands, culture and trade.
Various events were held during the expo, including the Tea Appreciation and Exchange Meeting, the 5th Summit Forum of Tea Talk by West Lake and “International Tea Day” 2023 China Celebrations, the China Contemporary Tea Culture Development Forum, China Tea Industry Eco-friendly and Low-carbon Development Workshop, and the Tea Town Tourism Development Conference. Another 38 brand promotions and tea events were also held across the country.
